Day five of the gratitude project and it's taking everything I have to actually write today. Just figured I'd be transparent. Some days the words flow, and other days they trickle. However, even the slow trickle days bring something to be grateful for. On days like this one, I'm grateful for just how inspirational my friends are.
I feel extremely fortunate not to have to look very far for inspirational people, because my life is so full of them. I have so many friends who are following creative pursuits with a fierce passion, building businesses of their own, or otherwise living out their dreams, day to day, in real time. In a world that seems hellbent on keeping people in a certain box, to watch all of these creative, innovative, intelligent souls break out and do what they yearn to do is nothing short of inspirational.
So today, though the words aren't coming easy, I am still showing up to honor both my commitment to this project, and my creative passion itself. After all, how can I turn my back on my own creative expression while being surrounded by those who feel the fears, the anxieties, the struggles...the trickle days, if you will, and do it anyway.
Short answer, I can't.
So for day five, I'm grateful for the wave of inspiration I'm surrounded by. The world is made a more beautiful place by being filled with their art and expression.
Go follow your creativity, even when it only trickles.
