Day eleven didn't start in the most rainbows and sunshine kind of way, as some days go. That's pretty much the way life goes. They can't all be great days, but there can be great in every day (which I'd wager is the point of this whole project. Figuring that piece out). So today, there's not this long and contemplative blog that focuses on a singular aspect of gratitude. Instead, you get to see what I do anytime days feel as heavy as this one did when it kickstarted - the running list of things that made it better.
So for today, I'm grateful for:
- East coast sunrises. They just hit differently than west coast sunrises, I can offer no further explanation. (I mean, come on. Look at those colors)
- A ridiculously long line of geese crossing the road and holding up traffic, which for some reason had me in full blown laughter.
- Friends who support you and go buy your baked goods from a fundraiser.
- Those same friends proving that there's a little witch in all of us, whether we know it or not.
- David, who fully acknowledged me as an agent of chaos and antics, stating, "that's just who you are." And when I told him it was hard to be sometimes, he simply stated, "no it's not, just be you," thus ringing as one of the more profound things I've heard in a while.
- So I'm grateful for that new mantra. Just be you.
- The type of balmy summer night that hits me in every happy memory I have of this city, and my chance to be out in it tonight.
- heat lightning.
- my birthday twin friend and her invitation to join a group of potential new friends.
- the simple request of, "go buy me this rock."
So nothing overly insightful. No ramble about one specific topic or another. Just a running list of mini gratitudes today. Not every day can be profound, I guess.
May you always find something to be grateful for.
-Dominique. Dommie. Whichever. :)
